The Barbera family has produced Olive Oil in Sicily for over 100 years. All of the olives for this oil are grown on Sicily. The Frantoia oil is a blend of Biancolilla, Ogliarola, and Nocellara varieties. Rich and full flavored Frantoia is loaded with olive notes and hints of herb. Frantoia is a top-quality virgin olive oil obtained by cold extraction in traditional oil-presses. Choice Sicilian cultivars such as “biancolilla”, “nocellara” and “cerasuola” from Partanna, Castelvetrano, Ribera, Sciacca and Trabia are used for this oil. The typical aroma — reminiscent of fresh olives — and the delicate and fruity flavor with a pleasant aftertaste of sweet almond make FRANTOIA quite distinct from the other oils. Use it raw as an ideal complement to soft cheeses, soups and all fish dishes.
